Life in Zaoksky Theological Academy
ZaokskyTheological Academy is an unusual institute of higher education. Its distinguishing feature is that its educational work is based on the principles of the Christian worldview, Christian philosophy of education and personality formation. The main goal of Zaoksky Academy is to train comprehensively educated and highly moral personalities, loving both intellectual and physical labour, worthy citizens of their homeland, having biblical view of the life purpose and goals. Thus all students’ extra-academic activity, which includes a variety of cultural events, excursions, sports, clubs, social and public works, is subordinated to this goal.
The Student Affairs Department in cooperation with the student government develop and implement programs to enrich cultural life and leisure activities of students. In order to help students with defining clear attitudes, values and interests, with developing ethical behaviour, reasonable, useful and enjoyable habits of using their free time, we have the following activities:
- Meetings with interesting people (musicians, artists, writers, public and political figures, representatives of various religious denominations, teachers and scientists);
- National cultures nights;
- Celebrations devoted to the beginning and the end of the academic year, as well as the anniversaries of important events in the history of Zaoksky Academy;
- Student topical or humorous nights;
- Theatrical activity and creativity;
- Music and poetry evenings, concerts;
- Lecturer in music, fine arts, video classes on the works of the classic authors of Russian and foreign literature;
Academy students are trained in healthy lifestyle based on the Multipurpose Facility. We have a lot of sports sections there, such as: volleyball, basketball, table tennis, football, badminton, aerobics, skiing, acrobatics. We hold sports festivals, competitions, ski trips, sports fairs, sport games. All these sport activities have an educational, recreational and moral orientation, has a beneficial effect on the formation of students’ personalities and help them to create good relationships in the team. Conducting games with sports teams of Zaoksky village and different educational institutions contributes to the development of a positive experience of communication with people from different sectors of society.
There is a grocery and other essential goods store in Zaoksky Academy campus. You can find products for every taste there and also make an order for other necessary and special items.
The library provides literature and information for educational process and scientific researches. It is also a knowledge-spreading centre, a centre of spiritual and intellectual communication and culture.
The library houses about 36,000 volumes, arranged in different sections of the library.
You can also enjoy delicious and healthy vegetarian food in the campus. We are glad to offer fresh and hot food in the cafeteria to all students, staff and guests of the Academy.
