OUR MISSION
Based on the fundamental principle that Scripture is the foundation of Christian education, Zaoksky Theological Academy sees as its primary mission:
- Training of comprehensively educated and highly skilled professionals for the responsible ministry in the Church and in society.
- Training of devoted, well-educated and responsible pastors for churches, institutions and organizations of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the CIS.
- Provide opportunities for young people to receive professional education in a Christian environment.
Goals and objectives of the Seventh-day Adventist Church high education are based on the biblical vision and understanding of the issues, ideas and values of modern society. The essence of this vision can be formulated in several theses:
- We believe in the fact that God is the Creator of all things in this world. He is the source of all good things and true knowledge.
- A person created in the image and likeness of God, has been made physically, mentally and spiritually perfect.
- As a result of the Fall, these abilities have changed dramatically, but God in His love has found a way to restore mankind. His plan of redemption opened up new possibilities for attaining the lost perfection and the meaning of existence for mankind.
In this connection, spiritual formation and education of the individual occupies a special place among the priorities of the Church. He contributes to the establishment of the relationship between God and man, and encourages to serve the society. Education, accordingly, should result in a holistic and harmonious development of a personality. Based on this, Zaoksky Academy has the following specific objectives:
- Spiritual goal:
- To expand the benefits of the Christian vision of the world to students. Encourage them to find the true meaning of their lives in spiritual union with God.
- Intellectual goal:
- To help students to orientate themselves and get self-determination in a wide variety of spiritual and material values accumulated by the world culture for centuries. Academic programs aim at broadening and deepening students' horizons. Particular emphasis is placed on the direct relationship between intellectual development and practical godliness.
- Professional goal:
- To prepare thoroughly educated specialists in different fields for practical ministry in the Church and society and assist in their formation as worthy citizens of their country.
- Social objective:
- To do everything to encourage students to reach social maturity as the guarantee of the creative principles in their lives, in the family and society. The Academy conducts workshops and activities aimed at the development of harmonious interpersonal relationships, and educates young people to have responsible, mature approach to the relationships between the individual and modern society.
- Healthy lifestyle:
- To provide students with knowledge and skills of a healthy lifestyle. Academic schedule and rules strictly prohibit dorm smoking, alcohol and drugs. The cafeteria of Zaoksky Academy provides students with nutritious and healthy food. Particular attention is paid to regular physical work and activities that promote health.
